Cycled 350 km, exploring rural region in Latvia: Latgale to Tartu, Estonia and then stayed at sheep farm on Hiiumaa island to learn about raising sheep for wool, as I want to one day to be able to make my own fabric to be used on outdoor structures like yurts I make… thought maybe fleece is a good place to start…
Internship at the Hemp farm, Latgale, Latvia, August 2021
Two week learning experience at family owned business in deep country side, learning all about industrial cannabis sativa plant: hemp, from how to grow, harvest and process it, what products to make, and different aspects of running small business. my main aim was to discover creation fibre and experiment with handling it. However it also turned into a small research project about local area as we made road signs for village.
