Cover for a geodesic dome
As part of a two week residency at NART in Narva, Estonia, was an assignment to engage with garden, partly neglected and seldom used by local resident or as hidden space for drinking. I had to negotiate with neighbours of how this dome will be used, promising that it won’t attract sleepovers and antisocial behaviour. I made a cover just covering top part of a structure so it could serve as cover in rainy weather for those who attend to vegetable and flower beds.
Geodome was made out of a natural hazel, meaning triangles created within the geodome are irregular; there for each and every piece cut before sewing had to be fitted. Used extra sticks to stretch fabric so it fit like drum and and rain water would just roll off it.
